OUR BEGINNING
Our love and dedication to dogs and the preservation of pure bred dogs started when I was only a baby, my family bred, imported, and hunted with Beagles under the prefix Lapinvale. I don't remember a day that we have not owned a dog.
I had been fascinated by the Alaskan Malamute for many years and the opportunity arose for us to start looking, in the meantime my husband who had grown up with Border Collies was insistant we get a Border Collie too, so in October 1996 we purchased Keira "Cyrilann Keira Gold" she was a tiny little Red and White Border Collie with more energy brains and love you could ever wish for in a dog.
We were still however in search for our Alaskan Malamute, not long after Keira we met Lynn and Brad Leeson of Kortmar Kennels in Canberra, we ventured down to Canberra to meet them and their dogs, there Craig become interested in the idea of racing his Alaskan Malamute and I the idea of showing. There was a litter planned and we anxiously waited, unfortunately however, it wasn't to be. Then we received a call would we be interested in an 18mth old male. We were introduced to Billy, he was all legs and one big head and boundless energy, we took Keira with us to see if the two would get on and the rest for us is history.
